JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 1, 2021 – Park staff members at Roaring River State Park will host the Wonders of Wildlife National Outdoor Recreation and Conservation School 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8 through 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10.
Wonders of Wildlife (WOW) will present its annual program introducing people to outdoor activities. WOW is a hands-on learning experience that attracts a wide range of ages, interests and abilities. This is a great family outing for learning the basic skills necessary to enjoy these outdoor activities in a safe and responsible manner. Knowledgeable instructors will lead these courses.
Various outdoor activities will be held throughout the park and at local venues. Classes may include caving, rappelling, canoeing, shooting sports, fly fishing, fly tying, fishing, archery, primitive skills, camping, outdoors survival, Dutch oven cooking, nature crafts, outdoor photography, high ropes, rock climbing, stargazing and nature identification classes, just to name a few. These classes are designed to be hands-on to give participants the skills to succeed.
