JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 28, 2021 – Staff members at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site invite the public to experience the sights and scents of making early American chocolate at the Boone home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13.
Participants will join the historic site interpreter to learn about the history of making chocolate, from its Mayan roots to the innovations of the 19th century, and observe each step of the process, from harvesting the cacao pod to adding flavoring to chocolate. This event is free and open to the public.
The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others.
