JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 20, 2024 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Waste Management Program has issued a permit to City Utilities of Springfield to construct and operate the Calhoun Transfer Station solid waste processing facility in Greene County.
The facility will be used as a private, small-scale solid waste transfer station that will accept non-friable asbestos cement pipe waste from the city’s utilities department. The site will be located at 1321 W. Calhoun St. in Springfield.
The Department of Natural Resources reviews all applications submitted by cities, counties and private owners to ensure solid waste facilities are properly designed and constructed. Other technical factors that protect Missouri’s environment are also examined.
