JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 13, 2024 – Chris Dudenhoeffer, an environmental program analyst with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Air Pollution Control Program, has been selected as the department’s Team Member of the Month for March 2024. He was selected for his service to the department, his efforts while leading the asbestos fee stakeholder process and for managing open records requests related to asbestos.
Recently, Dudenhoeffer voluntarily took the lead during the asbestos fee stakeholder process. His initiative assisted stakeholders and the MoDNR team in making appropriate decisions about necessary fee adjustments. His efforts culminated in consensus from stakeholders, providing a firm foundation for the Missouri Air Conservation Commission to begin the rulemaking process to adjust fees. Stakeholders have shown great respect for him throughout the process, which is a testament to the solid relationships he has built.
In addition, Dudenhoeffer is responsible for managing open records requests related to asbestos. He recently shared details of the process with colleagues in a way that was easy to understand, including the tools and resources he uses to complete reviews. He has also volunteered to serve as backup for the program’s file room manager if they happen to be unavailable for an extended period.
“While our work has no overlap, Chris is someone who really stands out to me as deserving recognition,” said Josh Vander Veen, an environmental program manager who nominated Dudenhoeffer for the award. “He is an informal leader and conducts his daily duties at the highest level, with a positive attitude and professionalism.”
Dudenhoeffer joined the Missouri Department of Natural Resources in February 2022 and resides in Jefferson City.
