JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 24, 2021 –  Staff members at Bennett Spring State Park invite the public to help clean up the park Friday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 7. 

Stream Team #5462 is holding a three-day cleanup of Bennett Spring. James Presley of Diventures in Springfield and Chris Heitman of Scuba Adventure in Jefferson City will be assisting park staff and volunteers. The divers will remove fishing line, lures and other items out of the spring, while other participants pick up the trash above and around the spring. All are welcome. The cleanup will be from sunrise to sunset.

Those interested can sign up at the Bennett Spring nature center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.  Participants can pick up gloves and trash bags at the nature center upon arriving at the park.

The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others.
