The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Division of State Parks is now accepting applications for the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program Grant. This is a nationally competitive grant program that is used to develop new and renovate existing public parks in disadvantaged communities. The deadline to submit a project application for this round is March 25, 2025.

The program focuses on communities with little to no access to outdoor recreation opportunities in urban areas. The grant can be used for park projects to create new outdoor recreation spaces, reinvigorate existing parks and form connections between people and the outdoors in economically underserved communities. Eligible applicants include state agencies and local governments, such as cities and counties. Also included are special purpose districts, such as park districts. The state agency or local government must be located within a community that is determined to be underserved and has a population of 25,000 or more in the 2020 census. For more information about this program, to download the grant application and to register for a grant application workshop, visit the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program webpage.
