The purpose of this plan is to demonstrate how Missouri’s SIP meets the requirements of Clean Air Act Section 110(a)(2)(D)(i)(I) for the 2010 sulfur dioxide (SO2) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). Commonly referred to as Interstate Transport SIPs, this type of plan addresses the requirement that every state’s SIP must include provisions that prohibit emissions in the state from significantly contributing to nonattainment or interfering with maintenance of the 2010 SO2 NAAQS in any downwind state. The department intends to submit this plan to EPA for inclusion in Missouri’s SIP.
