The department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the proposed plan until Sept. 5, 2024. The public can review the proposed revisions below. The department will also hold a public hearing about the proposed plan revisions during a Missouri Air Conservation Commission meeting. Please follow the link below for more information.

Written comments may be submitted by mail to Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Air Pollution Control Program, ATTN: Air Quality Section Chief, P.O. Comments larger than 3 MB need to be submitted by mail to the address above or call 573-751-4817 to make other arrangements.

The purpose of this plan is to demonstrate how Missouri’s SIP meets the requirements of Clean Air Act Section 110(a)(2)(D)(i)(I) for the 2010 sulfur dioxide (SO2) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS). Commonly referred to as Interstate Transport SIPs, this type of plan addresses the requirement that every state’s SIP must include provisions that prohibit emissions in the state from significantly contributing to nonattainment or interfering with maintenance of the 2010 SO2 NAAQS in any downwind state. The department intends to submit this plan to EPA for inclusion in Missouri’s SIP.
