The department has signed a contract to purchase approximately 8.43 acres, located at 1101 E. Capitol Ave., Jefferson City. The property includes the International Shoe Factory, a five-story brick building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Closing is tentatively scheduled for April 30, after a due diligence period. The department intends to redevelop the building into state office space and relocate department team members from leased space.
