The Kansas City Public Works Department requested Section 401 Water Quality Certification accompany the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) Permit NWK-2021-00624. The city of Kansas City is realigning the stream set back from existing park and road infrastructure in two streams, East Fork Line Creek and Old Maids Creek. The proposed project consists of replacing two reinforced concrete box culverts with pre-cast concrete bridges and stream channel modifications with associated bank stabilization. The crossing at East Fork Line Creek will also include replacing the natural channel with a trapezoidal channel design that widens and reduces the channel length.
