MoDNR’s Volkswagen (VW) Trust team awarded Iron County $96,600 cost-share funding for the replacement of two government-owned dump trucks. The main goal of the VW Trust is to maximize Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emission reductions by replacing diesel trucks that operate regularly on Missouri roads with newer, more efficient trucks to reduce diesel-related pollution. Replacing and disabling the two old dump trucks, the Iron County projects, will have a lifetime NOx reduction of 3,396 lbs. Missouri’s VW Trust program has funded 64 of government-owned and 214 of private-owned medium- and heavy-duty trucks from 2019 through 2021.
