Art Goodin was named Director of the department's Division of Environmental Quality, effective May 15, 2025.
Art brings 23 years of environmental science experience to his role. He has served as deputy director of the department's Division of Environmental Quality since January 2022. Prior to that, he was director of the department's Southeast Regional Office where he managed a team charged with protecting environmental quality in 24 counties in southeast Missouri. Art began his career with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources at our Southeast Regional Office in Poplar Bluff in 2002. There he worked in various roles in clean water, drinking water and as an Environmental Emergency Response State On-Scene Coordinator before becoming regional director. Art also brings private sector experience managing environmental compliance at manufacturing facilities to his role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Southeast Missouri State University.
