JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 13, 2018 – This year, celebrate the end of fall and the beginning of the winter holiday season with the Turkey Trot at Washington State Park Saturday, Nov. 24, at Shelter #1/C.C.C. Ridge.
The free event begins at 10 a.m. with Santa available for holiday pictures with kids and families in this rustic stone shelter setting with an on-site photographer. Washington State Park is cohosting with the Friends of Washington State Park. A $5 donation per picture with Santa is suggested. Refreshments will be available.
At 1 p.m., join park interpretive staff for a guided hike. Hikers will explore parts of the 1,000 Steps Trail and visit to the Overlook Shelter on the trail. Staff will point out the park’s natural and cultural resources along the one-mile hike lasting approximately one hour over rugged and natural surface terrain. Dress accordingly for this outdoor experience.
