JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 17, 2019 – Washington State Park invites the public to its Summer On-Season Kickoff celebration Memorial Day weekend Friday, May 24, through Monday, May 27. The celebration signals the start of the weekly programming series provided by the park’s interpretive staff throughout the summer.

The celebration begins at 7 p.m. Friday evening with an ice cream social at the park’s campground entrance. Participants will hear about upcoming programs and events at the park and have the opportunity to make their own ice cream.

Events through the weekend include Petroglyph tours, history lessons and storytelling. The celebration concludes Memorial Day with a special naturalist "Discovery Table" program beginning at 9 a.m. at the park’s entrance.
