Release Date

Campers and outdoor enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the recreation season at Viney Creek Recreation Area near Golden.  The recreation area, which will be managed by Missouri State Parks, will be open for Memorial Day weekend starting on Friday, May 22 at noon.  

"During our first year operating Viney Creek Recreation Area, we received a great deal of the support from local residents, and we’re pleased to be able to manage the property for the 2015 recreation season," said Bill Bryan, Missouri State Parks director.  "This spot, located on Table Rock Lake, provides a great opportunity for guests who want to picnic, camp, boat and enjoy outdoor recreation in the area."   

For the second year, Missouri State Parks staff will manage and oversee operations of the campground and day-use area on a temporary lease agreement. The recreation area will be open from May 22 through Sept. 13, 2015.   

Viney Creek Recreation area’s day-use area offers picnic sites, a playground and access to the water, all free of charge. A boat ramp is available for a $5 daily launch fee or $40 annual pass. Viney Creek Recreation Area’s campground has 22 basic sites, 16 electric/water and 7 electric/water premium campsites. First-come, first-served, as well as reservable campsites will be available.
