Victorian Mourning Practices program at Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site Nov. 9
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 24, 2019 – The public is invited to experience Victorian mourning practices at the Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site on Sat., Nov. 9. A free program describing these practices will be held at 1, 1:30 and 2 p.m. The formal parlors with curtains drawn and black fabric covering mirrors will be astonishing to see. Post-mortem photographs will be on display along with clothing worn while in mourning.
The house will remain in mourning throughout November. Regular tour rates will apply.
