JEFFERSON CITY, MO, DEC. 4, 2018 – Missouri State Parks will hold a public meeting from 5:30 to
6:30 p.m., Mon., Dec. 10, at Van Meter State Park to discuss a potential name change of Missouri’s American Indian Cultural Center. The proposed name change includes adding the first names of the property owners who donated the original tract of land to the state in 1932. Park staff will be on hand to provide information, and the public is invited to share comments and ask questions at the meeting.
The American Indian Cultural Center is located within Van Meter State and provides information on the park and the nine tribes that lived in Missouri in the early 19th century.
