Release Date

Volunteers are invited to help "beautify" Prairie State Park on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event was previously scheduled for Feb. 15, but is being held on an alternative date due to cold temperatures that may prevent the ground from thawing enough for planting. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, visitors may participate in the park’s Beautification Day by helping to plant 4,000 native prairie plants at the north and south entrances to the park.

Participants should meet at the Nature Center and are encouraged to bring work gloves and clothes. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Prairie State Park is located at 128 NW 150th Lane in Mindenmines. For more information about the event, contact the park at 417-843-6711.
