JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 2, 2019 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is hosting a ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 8 to kick off the renovation and restoration of Sam A. Baker State Park Lodge. The public is invited to the ceremony at 1 p.m. at the lodge. The former dining lodge, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934, is being converted to a lodging and event venue. Attendees will have the opportunity to review the renovation plans and tour the building prior to the start of the project. 

The construction contract for the lodge was awarded to Brockmiller Construction Inc. of Farmington, and the design contract was awarded to Engine House #1 from St. Louis.
