Release Date

Visitors are invited to Prairie State Park’s Explorer Day Camp on July 23. This day camp will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center in Prairie State Park located near Mindenmines.

This day camp will allow guests the chance to learn about the history of the menu of the Osage Indians and pioneers. Participants should be prepared to prepare, cook and try a variety of different food items from years past.

Participants will be awarded the Missouri State Park Explorer Patch upon completion of the day’s activities. Pre-registration is required by July 9.

The Explorer Program is a statewide program Missouri State Parks introduced to give kids of all ages the chance to enjoy all the state parks have to offer.
