JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JAN. 30, 2024 – Prairie State Park is hosting two events in February.

Saturday, Feb. 3: Guided Bison Saunter Winter is here and the bison have already faced biting wind and cold temperatures. Guests will brave the conditions to see the bison in their natural habitat. Meet at 1 p.m. at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie for a leisurely walk of at least 2 miles over uneven terrain. Since we won’t know the location of the bison until the morning of the event, bringing water, snacks and a hat and wearing sturdy footwear is recommended. The weather can be unpredictable, so be sure to dress for it. Registration is required and limited to 25 participants. To register, call 417-843-6711.
Friday, Feb. 9: Let it Snow Come out from 10 a.m. to noon to learn some interesting facts about the cool, fluffy white stuff and enjoy making a snowflake to take home. The class, designed for children 5 years and older, is limited to 35 participants and registration is required. Call 417-843-6711 by Feb. 2.

Prairie State Park is located at 128 NW 150th Lane in Mindenmines. Participants should meet at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center.
