JEFFERSON CITY, MO, FEB. 2, 2022 – Site interpreters at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site invite the public to experience the sights and scents of early American chocolate making at the Boone home from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.

Visitors will discover the art of making chocolate and its role in the 19th century Valentine's Day traditions while observing each step of the chocolate-making process, from cacao pod to flavored chocolate. This event is free and open to the public.

The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others.

Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located at 7850 N. State Highway V, Ash Grove, northwest of Springfield. For more information about the event, please contact the site at 417-751-3266.
