Missouri's Lewis and Clark State Office Building earns Energy Star certification
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, FEB. 14, 2020 – The State of Missouri’s Lewis and Clark State Office Building has earned Energy Star certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for superior energy performance.
The 120,000 square-foot Lewis and Clark State Office Building, located at 1101 Riverside Drive in Jefferson City, was built in 2005 and is Platinum LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council. It houses portions of Missouri’s departments of Natural Resources and Public Safety.
Energy Star-certified buildings are verified as performing in the top 25% of buildings nationwide, based on weather-normalized source energy use that takes into account occupancy, hours of operation and other key metrics. Energy Star is the only energy efficiency certification in the United States based on actual, verified, energy performance. The Lewis and Clark State Office Building earned a score of 81 out of 100, demonstrating that the building operates at a higher efficiency than 81% of similar buildings nationwide.
