As part of an ongoing effort by Missouri State Parks to ensure citizens have input regarding facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites, facilities will be holding informational meetings throughout the year.
"For many years, the state park system has held informational meetings, which have been a great way to hear from our guests about what we do well, as well as areas where we might need to make improvements," said Bill Bryan, director of Missouri State Parks. "In 2015, we are pleased to continue holding these meetings and encourage park users to attend, hear more about our parks and let us know how we’re doing."
At the meetings, staff will be on hand to provide information about the park and discuss future plans for the facility. Visitors are invited to share feedback and suggestions about park services and operations.

Missouri’s state parks and historic sites are supported by the one-tenth-of-one-percent parks, soils and water sales tax. In 1984, Missouri voters passed a constitutional amendment that earmarked funding to fight soil erosion and support the state park system. Renewed by voters in 1988, 1996 and 2006, the sales tax is vital to maintaining the state park system. It provides the majority of the budget for operation, protection and improvement of state parks and historic sites.
