JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 7, 2018 – Missouri State Parks is announcing the names of the winners of its Centennial Passport Program grand prize drawing. Each of the seven winners will receive a family vacation package to a Missouri state park.

The winners’ names were randomly drawn from the list of people who completed the passport program by its conclusion; six from the printed passport version and one from the digital version. All the winners are from Missouri: Jean V., St. Louis; Holly A., Springfield; Doug H., Nixa; Robert K., Columbia; Jacque Q., Branson; and, John P., Bonne Terre. The digital passport winner is Shelly A., Hermitage. The winners’ full names are withheld to protect their privacy.

In April 2016, Missouri State Parks brought back its popular passport program as a unique way to encourage more Missourians to help the organization celebrate its 100th anniversary. The Centennial Passport Program encouraged people to visit all 88 parks and historic sites in a two-year period. The first 1,000 people to complete the passport would receive a centennial backpack, made possible by a sponsorship from Bass Pro Shops. Then, everyone who completed the program by the deadline was entered into a grand prize drawing for state park vacation packages.

Participants in the program’s printed version used a passport booklet to collect a stamp from every Missouri state park and historic site they visited. Of the nearly 10,000 Centennial Passport booklets that were distributed, 646 people completed the program by visiting and receiving stamps from the 88 participating state parks and historic sites.

People taking part in the passport program’s digital version collected a code at each state park and historic site, then entered that code into the digital passport website. Of the 3,167 people who participated in the digital program, 311 completed their passports by the deadline.
