JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JAN. 7, 2019 – The Missouri State Museum presents "Third Friday @ 3" themed tours of the Missouri State Capitol on the third Friday of each month at 3 p.m. in various locations throughout the Capitol. Those interested can attend the upcoming themed tours on Jan. 17, Feb. 21, and March 20.

The Friday, Jan. 17 tour is titled "Background, Foreground and Figures." The tour will focus on the history and techniques used to construct museum dioramas.

The Friday, Feb. 21 tour is titled "Four Lunettes." The tour will highlight the background and history of the Battle of Sacramento (1847), Vauquois Heights, riches of the mines and the reclamation of the South.

The Friday, March 20 tour is titled "World War I and the Missouri State Capitol." The tour will explore Missouri’s connection with World War I through the Capitol’s exhibits, plaques, paintings and sculpture.

Visitors should check in 10 minutes early at the Missouri State Museum tour desk just off the Capitol rotunda.
