The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded $157,596 to the Missouri Association of Councils of Governments to provide outreach and assistance to communities interested in assessing environmental needs, identifying local priorities and creating plans to balance environmental compliance and affordability.
This funding will enable regional planning commissions and local governments to work together to address environmental issues that are important to the people who live in these communities. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency - Region 7 has provided funding for this project under Section 604(b) of the Clean Water Act. The Department of Natural Resources’ Water Protection Program will administer the grant funds.
The department is committed to working closely with communities and businesses to assist with funding efforts that improve water quality in Missouri. For more information, visit the department’s Water Protection Program online.
