Lewis and Clark State Park invites the public to help celebrate Corps Day 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in commemoration of Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery expedition.

Participants can step back in time as they watch demonstrations of traditional skills such as two-man sawing and Dutch oven cooking. They can stroll over to the open field across from the park office for a friendly family competition, playing a variety of old fashioned games, and explore the keelboat exhibit to learn how the expedition traveled across the wilderness that became the central and western United States.

Lewis and Clark State Park is located at 801 Lake Crest Boulevard, Rushville. For more information about the event, call the park office at 816-579-5564.
