Release Date

Plan a visit to Lexington State Historic Site and learn about the Arabia Steamboat. The site will host a staff person from the Arabia Steamboat Museum at 2 p.m., Sept. 26 in the theater at the museum.

When the Steamboat Arabia sank near Kansas City in 1856, she carried 200 tons of mystery cargo. Lost for 132 years, recovery began in in 1988. The event will feature artifacts from the steamboat excavation and a presentation about the Arabia Steamboat and museum. The program is free and open to the public.
