JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 18, 2019 – The Missouri State Museum will present the program "Missouri’s Shady Ladies!" as part of its ongoing "Landing After Hours" series at 7 p.m., Wed., Aug. 7. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the program will move to the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site for 2019.
Most of us have heard of famous female outlaws such as Belle Star and Ma Barker. However, these ladies are far from incomparable. Many other women throughout Missouri’s history have joined the ranks of miscreants. Join Carrie Hammond, interpretive resource specialist with the Missouri State Museum, to learn about these famous Missouri women and several of their lesser known counterparts.
The Missouri State Museum’s After Hour events are held the first Wednesday of each month. Doors to the Lohman Building will open at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m. Come early to explore the historic site by entering through the track-side doors before the program. The program will be held in the first floor classroom, easily accessed from the south entrance door. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.
