JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 18, 2019 – The Missouri State Museum will present the program "Jefferson City in the 1940s" as part of its ongoing "Landing After Hours" series at 7 p.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 2. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the program will move to the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site for 2019.
Local author, Dr. Walter A. Schroeder will discuss his recent book titled, Buddy's Stories: Growing Up in Jefferson City in the 1940s. Walter grew up in Jefferson City, and his book centers on his experiences as a youth in the city during WWII and immediately thereafter.
The Missouri State Museum’s After Hour events are held the first Wednesday of each month. Doors to the Lohman Building will open at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 7 p.m. Come early to explore the historic site by entering through the track-side doors before the program. The program will be held in the first floor classroom, easily accessed from the south entrance door. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.
