Katy Trail State Park – Mid-Eastern Section hosts public information meeting and tram rides Oct. 13
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 30, 2019 – Representatives from Missouri State Parks invite the public to an informational meeting about Katy Trail State Park – Mid-Eastern Section at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Treloar Trailhead.
Representatives from the park will be on hand to provide information about the park and to answer questions. The public is invited to share comments and ask questions about the park and its operations.
Following the public meeting, park staff will offer interpretative tram tours of the Katy Trail between Treloar and the historic Peers Store. Meanwhile, across the street at the historic Treloar Mercantile (formerly a bank and post office), Magnificent Missouri volunteers and staff will be hosting the ninth annual Treloar Elevator Party with bratwursts grilled by the Marthasville Volunteer Fire Department, live music and a display of old harvest equipment.
Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings, which are being held in all state parks and historic sites, help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings give staff the opportunity to let people know the current status and future plans for the parks and historic sites, and they offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.
