JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 8, 2022 – The Great American Campout brings families, friends, youth groups and more together to connect with nature for a fun and memorable night outdoors. Through the month of June, thousands of people across the country will gather in their backyards, neighborhoods, communities and parks to camp out. Whether you are a first-time camper or experienced outdoorsman, come celebrate with team members at Washington State Park starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25.

Activities for the day include the following:

  • Petroglyph Tour – 2 p.m. at petroglyph site. Join interpretive team members as they explain how the park’s history was carved in stone. See the amazing petroglyphs left behind.
  • Mammal Tracks – 4 p.m. at the campground amphitheater. Learn about the mammals found in the park and the signs they leave behind! Explore and identify tracks of some of the area’s more frequent visitors.
  • Bigfoot Hunt – 7 p.m. at the campground amphitheater. Join Missouri State Park rangers in their hunt for Bigfoot! Learn about nature and this mythical creature. If you’re lucky, you may be able to grab a photo with our furry friend.
