Visitors to Arrow Rock are invited to come enjoy fried chicken, chipotle glazed ham, a crisp green salad, and more at the J. Huston Tavern. The tavern will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. starting June 1.
Guests can call to their make reservations for regular lunch or dinner hours. On evening Lyceum performances, the tavern will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. on the specific Wednesday or Friday.
The tavern is the oldest continuously serving restaurant west of the Mississippi River with more than 180 years of continuous service to the public. It dates back to 1834 when it was built as a home by Joseph Huston. Sr. Huston eventually began offering lodging and dinning to the many travelers heading south past Arrow Rock. Today’s visitors can enjoy the luxury of drinking in the Tap Room and eating in one of the three dining rooms.
