Release Date

The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will consider nominations to the National Register of Historic Places during its quarterly meeting at 9 a.m., Friday, May 20 in the Council Chamber Room in St. Charles City Hall, located at 200 N 2nd Street in St. Charles. Three districts and five individual property nominations are scheduled to be considered for listing in the National Register.

The list includes the following commercial and institutional properties and districts. 

 

  •   Curtiss-Wright Aeroplane Factory, 130 Banshee Road, Hazelwood, St. Louis County
  •   Midwest Terminal Building, 700-720 North Tucker Blvd., St. Louis
  •   Mansion House Center Historic District, 200-444 North Fourth Street, St. Louis
  •   Locust Street Automotive District (Boundary Increase II), 2722 – 2900 and 2727 – 2801 Locust Street, St. Louis (Historic Auto Related Resources of St. Louis Independent City MPDF)
  •  Sedalia Commercial Historic District (Amendment), 105 West Main, 202-216, 612, 201-203, 211, 217-219, 305-307 South Ohio, 107-117 and 109 East Fourth Streets, Sedalia, Pettis County
  •  Belmont Hotel, 911 East Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Jackson County

The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is a 12-member group of historians, architects, archaeologists and citizens with an interest in historic preservation. The council is appointed by the governor and works with the Department of Natural Resources' State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register of Historic Places program for Missouri. The council meets quarterly to review Missouri property nominations to the National Register, the nation's honor roll of historic properties. Approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.
