JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 26, 2019 – As life springs out of nearly every hill and valley of Graham Cave State Park, important parent-child bonds are developing between mothers and babies. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 11, park naturalists will honor this special relationship by featuring the children’s picture book "The Road Home," by Katie Cotton with a self-guided hike. After the hike, visitors can stop by the Visitors Center to experience fun learning activities, interactive displays and craft projects centered on baby animals and animal homes.
Activities and displays include the following:
- Make your own bird’s nest
- "What’s that baby’s name?"
- A live ant farm
- Animal homes
- "All about Eggs"
- "Orphaned" babies and what to do
