The public is invited to attend Washington State Park’s July 4th Family Fun Fest. Events will begin Friday, July 1 and continue through July 4 at various locations in the park.
Families can partake in a variety of events starting at 7 p.m. on July 1 with an ice cream social. The following day, beginning at 10 a.m., guests can participate in events such as a nature presentation, tour of the petroglyphs, guided history stroll, Sidewalk Chalk Competition, a Patriotic Campsite Decoration Contest, and campground charades.
Celebrations on Sunday, July 3 will begin at 10 a.m. with a game of volleyball. Other events of the day include a petroglyph interpretation and an annual Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest. An awards ceremony will be held for the competitions, with the winner receiving a Missouri State Parks gift card. The weekend will conclude at 9 a.m. July 4 with an hour nature presentation.
