Guests are invited to the second annual Explorer Day Camp at Sam A. Baker State Park. This program will run from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 21 at Sam A. Baker State Park located near Patterson.
Participants of this event will have the chance to explore nature and learn about the tiny creatures that live within the park. Activities include snorkeling in Big Creek, exploring rotten logs, decorating t-shirts and much more. Visitors have the option to attend the "Spider Sniff" program at 8 p.m. following the Explorer Day Camp.
This Explorer Day Camp is for kid’s ages six and up and an adult must be present with the child. This event is free to the public but registration is required by July 18. Guests should bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a t-shirt to decorate, drinking water, sturdy shoes and clothes for getting wet. Snacks will be provided.
Participants of this event will be able to earn an Explorer Patch after completion of all the day’s activities. The Explorer Program is a statewide program Missouri State Parks introduced to give kids of all ages the chance to enjoy all the state parks have to offer.
