Park system to waive camping fees on Nov. 27

After the leftovers have been put away and the shopping has been done, Missouri State Parks is inviting Missourians to spend time outdoors this Black Friday. Missouri’s state parks and historic sites provide a great opportunity to unwind with family, get outside and explore history.

"An outdoor adventure offers a great opportunity to spend quality time with visiting family after a busy day of shopping," said Bill Bryan, director of Missouri State Parks. "Whether you chose to hike a trail, cast a line or spend a night under the stars, we’re inviting all Missourians to spend some time in their favorite state park or historic site this Black Friday."

In the spirit of offering unbeatable Black Friday deals, Missouri State Parks is sponsoring free camping on the evening of Friday, Nov. 27. No fees will be collected for first, come first served campsites. Camping fees will also be waived for reservations (reservations fees still apply). To make a reservation, campers can call 877-ICampMo (877-422-6766) and mention the Black Friday promotion.

There are no entrance or day-use fees at Missouri’s state park and historic sites, meaning the public can enter every facility at no charge. Some state parks and historic sites are also offering special Black Friday programs. For a list of special events, visit mostateparks.com/events.
