"The Earth Moves Under Our Feet," an event in recognition of Earthquake Awareness Month, will be held at Onondaga Cave State Park on Saturday, Feb. 22. Sponsored by the Missouri Geological Survey and Missouri State Parks, the event will take place in the park’s visitor center between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

The program will feature a presentation on earthquake history, preparedness and effects by a geologist with the Missouri Geological Survey. The program will also include an introduction to State Emergency Management Agency programs related to earthquakes, and a video on earthquakes in the Midwest. The event will conclude with a question and answer session designed to increase participants’ knowledge about these geological events.
