JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 16, 2019 – Celebrate "Earth Day Extravaganza" with the Missouri Valley College Biology Department from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 27 at Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park.
The students from Missouri Valley College will lead this event for all ages and share their different interests and expertise with visitors. From 9 a.m. to noon there will be educational booths set up along the Oumessourit Wetland Spring Bluffs Trail with topics ranging from turtles and mammals to composting and recycling. The Oumessourit Wetland Spring Bluffs Trail is an easily accessible hike with little to no incline.
Meet at the large shelter house for a guided nature hike along the Earthworks trail at 10:30 a.m. The Earthworks trail is a moderately difficult hike with steep hills and narrow walkways.
We highly recommend that attendees bring and use bug spray and sunscreen and wear sturdy footwear.
