JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 18, 2019 – Cuivre River State Park will host a free Historic Hunting program from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27. Meet the park naturalist at the campground showerhouse to explore how our ancestors hunted compared to the world of hunting today. At the end of the program, participants will have the chance to throw an atlatl, a spear-like weapon ancient peoples used to hunt Ice Age megafauna such as mastodons. Participants should bring a lawn chair, water and insect repellent. Please arrive early as parking is limited in the campground. Late arrivals may have to walk a short distance to the program location.
