Release Date

Visitors will have the opportunity to get into the holiday spirit with two events at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site in St. Charles. The events include a concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 and a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas beginning at noon on Sunday, Dec. 13

The holiday concert will feature traditional old-time songs indigenous to Missouri and the Midwest region in the glow of the candlelit legislative chambers. Featuring Glen "Papa" Wright and Jacki Wright along with Kathy Schottel, concert tickets are $10 a person. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale. From noon-4 p.m. on Dec. 13, guests can hear the traditional story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas written in 1823 and told by Mrs. Claus alongside a warm glowing fire. Hot cider and cookies will be served and a visit from Santa is expected.
