Release Date

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 8, 2019 – Visit Roaring River State Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 20 to celebrate Earth Day at the Ozark Chinquapin Nature Center. The nature center will host a variety of organizations and activities throughout the day. This event is free and open to the public.

Roaring River is home to several species of conservation concern. Guests from the Ozark Chinquapin Foundation will share information about how they help preserve species diversity in Missouri. At the event you can learn what park staff do to protect these special plants and animals and how you can help.

You may participate in craft making and other activities throughout the day with help from the East Newton High School Service Club. The Missouri Department of Conservation will hand out free trees at the nature center.

Roaring River State Park is located 7 miles south of Cassville on Highway 112 in Barry County, in southwest Missouri. For more information about the event, contact the park office at 417-847-2539.
