Release Date

The public is invited to learn more about birding at Wings Over Weston, held at Weston Bend State Park. The festival will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at the Bee Creek Shelter, south of the park’s main entrance.

The festival will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and include more than 30 activities about birds, bird migration, and the importance of habitat conservation. There will be live birds, games, crafts, bird banding, and guided hikes. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic at the park.

Transportation from Kansas City is provided if needed. The bus will leave Anita B Gorman Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave Kansas City MO, at 9 a.m. and will return to Kansas City by 4 p.m. To reserve a place on the shuttle, please call 816-759-7313 x1162.
