JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JAN. 14 2019 – As part of the ongoing winter "Meet the Artist" series of events, Battle of Pilot Knob Historic Site will host a "Meet the Artist" reception at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1 with local photographer Ione Koenemann. This reception will kick off the February photography show with her photography essay, "Arcadia Valley Events and Scenic Wonders," on display for the public.
Light snacks will be provided and the artist will be available to visit with the public about her work from 4-7 p.m. Ione’s insightful and interesting essay on life in the valley will be on display at the Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site museum for the month of February.
Over the last few years Ione has chronicled life in the Arcadia Valley. She strives to capture the unique natural wonders in the valley including the spectacular sunsets and sunrises over the mountains, the beauty of the forest as the seasons change and the fog rolling down the valley on a cool fall or spring morning. She has also recorded the unique people and their traditions, as they celebrate holidays, community events and their history.
