Release Date

The public is invited to come out and learn a new skill, make a beautiful handmade item just right for gift giving or keeping as a treasured family heirloom with basket weaving classes at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site in St. Charles. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the classes will take place once a month from October through May.

These events are perfect for a group of friends or making new friends. Participants may register for all or individual classes, but class size is limited. All materials will be supplied and covered by the cost of the class. Class participants will walk away from each class with a newly-learned talent and beautiful, hand-crafted basket.

A different project will be created with each class. Register today to create one of the following projects:

Oct. 3: Pumpkin basket ($40)
Nov. 14: A Bucket of Arrows Basket ($40)
Dec. 5: Carrier Square Basket ($45)
Jan. 9: Biscuit Basket ($35)
Feb. 6: Magazine/Carry All basket ($40)
March 5: Market basket ($40)
March 6: Egg basket ($35)
April 2: Garden basket ($40)
May 7: Picnic Basket ($55-75 depending on lids)
