Release Date

Guests are invited to the first annual "Backyard Concert Series" July through September hosted by Jefferson Landing State Historic Site. The backyard concerts will begin at   6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Lohman Building in Jefferson City. Following are the dates and performers:

On Saturday, July 23, the Kay Brothers will perform their version of Missouri Stompgrass.

On Saturday, Aug. 20 the River Ridge String Band will perform traditional, old-time, Celtic, folk and bluegrass music.

On Saturday, Sept. 17, Howard Marshall and Ensemble/Fiddle Jam will play traditional fiddle and dance tunes. Visitors can enjoy the melodies while learning about the music and people behind the state’s fiddling tradition. Guests can bring their fiddles and play with these fiddlers and other musicians.

It is recommended that guests bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

Jefferson Landing State Historic Site is located at 100 Jefferson Street in Jefferson City.
