The public is invited to hear from sculptor R. H. Dick as he discussed the research, design and creation of his piece "Sacajawea," currently on display in the Rozier Gallery at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site. The talk will take place on Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at the Missouri State Museum History Hall, 1st Floor, east wing of the Missouri State Capitol. The event is in conjunction with the Rozier Gallery exhibit "Casting the Past: Missouri History in Bronze."
"Sacajawea" is a bronze that depicts the four key members of the Corps of Discovery, whose expedition from 1804-1806 opened the American West. This and other works by Dick are on display in "Casting the Past: Missouri History in Bronze" in the Museum’s Rozier Gallery. Following the talk, the Museum invites visitors to see the exhibition in the Rozier Gallery at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, where the artist will be available to answer questions.
