JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 27, 2018 – The Missouri River Bird Observatory’s co-founder and co-director, Ethan Duke, will present "A Natural History Perspective: Historical Bird Life and Habitats of the Arrow Rock Area" at Arrow Rock State Historic Site 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 6. The lecture will include information on historical accounts of Arrow Rock’s natural communities. By reviewing the past, we gain insights into the current and future plight of the land we all share, love and depend upon.
The Missouri River Bird Observatory has its headquarters at Arrow Rock. The observatory contributes to the conservation of Missouri’s migratory and resident birds through scientific research, community outreach and education. It monitors bird populations on thousands of acres within Missouri’s most imperiled habitats and communicates this information to land managers and landowners to enhance the stewardship of birds and natural communities.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
