JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 20, 2019 – Michael Dickey, historian and administrator of Arrow Rock State Historic Site will present the program "A History of the Missouri State Park System" at Arrow Rock State Historic Site at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 6. Missourians have been enjoying their state parks and historic sites for nearly 100 years. During this free lecture, Dickey will examine the earliest efforts to establish and fund a park system, the growth of the system, and its achievement as one of the top state park systems in the nation.
Mike Dickey, a 34 year veteran of the Missouri State Park system, has been the administrator of Arrow Rock State Historic Site since 1995. If you enjoy Missouri's state park system, you’ll want to learn how it became what it is today.
